The newest addition to the Porsche Design timepiece collection is more than just a watch; it’s a compass, too. Called the P’6520 Compass Watch, the timepiece comes with the dual purpose of a watch and a compass that was inspired by its predecessor, which was first built in 1978 by no less than Ferdinand Alexander Porsche.
The modern iteration of the old classic is made out of anti-allergenic titanium, primarily because the material is not magnetic and thus, should not affect the magnetic needle of the compass. The P’6520 Compass Watch features a three-hand watch with luminescent hands driven by SW300 Sellita cailbre. Just underneath the watch is a liquid compass that by itself, can be easily detached.
There’s also a scratch-resistant mirror, which, when opened, clicks into place at a 45-degree angle. Being a Porsche Design timepiece, the P’6520 Compass Watch is made out of titanium and black PVD coating and has been designed to be water resistant of up to 50 meters.
For a merchandise brand that has taken old classics - the P’6930 Chronograph also comes into mind - and given them modern day re-issues, the new 911-piece P’6520 Compass Watch is poised to become another must-have for Porsche fans the world over.
